Music Monday (March 31st)

From the film Stigmata - where priest and pretty young atheist bond during her demonic possession.  Despite this synopsis, the song is beautifully melodic.  Penned by the talented Billy Corgan, here's Natalie Umbruglia with  Identify. Hope you like it!

Saturday Nine - Too Close

I am giving another meme group a go. There wasn't much respnse to my other weekend one but I'm looking forward to the answers. I've always been interested in other people's interests! Find Saturday 9  host of the Meme by clicking this link.

1) This song is about a friendship that turned romantic ... and it doesn't end happily. Have you ever crossed that line with a friend? If so, how did it work out?

No. But I once had a fling with my twin sister's friend's husband.  I knew it was wrong but having a twin helped with alibi's! She went nuts when I told her who it was and he DIDN'T leave his wife.  I've been married 25 years and have kind of grown out of the fling thing stuff!

2) When he was a kid, this week's singer, Alex Clare, listened to his dad's Stevie Wonder records. When you were in 7th/8th grades, what music were you into?

Blondie was my biggest passion and other new wave sounds - eg,The Ramones I still had a huge interest in 60's music having 3 older brothers who played records non-stop!

3) "Too Close" has been featured on the TV show, The Vampire Diaries. Do you enjoy shows/books/movies about the supernatural?

I adore supernatural films and books.  Can't get enough of ghosts, me!  And I think there is something erotic in vampire films, too.  I've never watched VD or Twilight for that matter. My favourite ever Dracula was Gary Oldman in the 1993 Bram Stoker's It was a real touching love story in between the gallons of blood.

4) Some of Alex Clare's tour dates were sponsored by Bud Light. Do you like beer?

I have the odd shandy now and then but I'm virtually tee-total and almost totally on tea!

5) Mr. Clare trained to be a chef, just in case the music thing didn't work out. Are you a good cook?

I'm a lousy cook.  My darling hubby takes care of that sort thing.  I'm quite good at boiled eggs and icing a cake but that's about it!

6) Crazy Sam is forever running out of mayo because she slathers it on her sandwiches. What is currently on your grocery list?

I badly need vinegar. I opened a bottle top and flung half of it on my fish and chips. Hubby had swapped brands and made a hole in the top of the lid!

7) Where are you most likely to find spare change -- between the sofa cushions, in your jeans as you toss them into the washer, or under the floor mat of your car?

I think the most likely place would be the sofa. I've been cut while searching before so the money will stay put until it's time for a new sofa!

8) How did you spend your Friday night -- working late, hanging out with friends, or just enjoying a quiet night at home?

Curled up on the sofa with a bag of fresh popcorn and the boys all out the house! Bliss!

9) Do you use Pinterest?

No. I really only use Blogger.  Although I've heard most people are Pinteresters.  I'll give it a miss for now.....

Just your basic, everyday tea leaf. Sometimes a lemon tea or Earl Grey.
17. What social media sites do you use?
I have a Facepuke account but rarely visit there.  Blogger is the only one I'm faithful to.....!!

Sunday Steal (8th March Q's!)

Sunday Stealing Meme (First Timer)

1. Have you ever pretended to read a book to impress someone?  No, but if they bang on about a book they have read, I'd just fib and say I may read it soon!

2. Have you ever pretended not to read a book in order to avoid embarrassment?
Kind of.  I lied and said that I'd never read Fifty Shades of Gray when in fact I'd somehow managed to stomach the first 10 pages!

3. What’s your worst reading habit?
The Viz magazine.

4. What book are you most proud of having read?
Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov, because of its controversial content.

5. Do you buy most of your books new, second-hand, electronically or borrow via the library?
I'm too careless to own a Kindle or such like (I'd leave it on a bus no doubt) so second hand and library suffice.

6. Have you ever pretended to watch a film to impress someone?
No, but I once said I'd watched Apocalypse Now when I hadn't, to try and avoid watching it via video one night.  I forced myself to watch it a few years later and it's now in my top 10 favourite films!

7. Have you ever pretended not to have watched a film in order to avoid embarrassment?
Well, I'll not readily admit that I'd sat through The Human Centipede.  It was so gob-smackingly bizzare I had to see it all.

8. What movie have you watched the most?
  Probably Bram Stokers Dracula. (1993)

9. What film do you tell people is your favorite ever?
Sweet Hostage (1973)

10. What film is actually your favorite ever?
The above.

11. What time do you usually wake up and get up in the mornings?
It varies.  I'm a committed insomniac so sometimes it's the previous morning.

12. Do you wake naturally or does something/someone wake you up?
Naturally, if the damn bloody birds don't warble me up at the slightest hint of morning first!

13. How many snooze alarms do you need?
Just one. He's called Trevor.

14. What’s your routine on a workday/work at home morning?
Shower, s**t, shoes, then shoot off.....!

15. What’s your routine on a non-workday morning?
Sluggish, very very sluggish......!

Music Monday - Kate Bush - Babooshka

Taking me back to the days when I was an underage drinker in my first 'local' pub.  This song was never off the jukebox and pissed off my first boyfriend something rotten and for that reason alone I give you all this: a quirky Kate Bush and my favourite song of hers - Babooshka!

Music Monday - A Little Respect - Erasure

I used to dance my arse off to this in the 80's.  Even with the vast years passed since this was high in the charts, it's still used as one of the best summer anthems to beat out from a passing car!  It's a sure foot tapper!
