Unfamiliar with this week's tune?  Hear the song and the fabulous accompanying video  thataway

1. In this song Bjork knows what she's looking for in a mate but not found him yet. What 2 qualities are you looking for or what were the ones that you hoped for?  Considerate,  patient  and packing a fairly decent sized........wallet?

2. Do you believe dreams can come true if you wish hard enough?   Work hard enough perhaps, but I've still to come across a genie, fairy, mirror or well to help me in my quest.

3. Bjork turns 50 soon. Do you treat 'milestone' birthdays any different or is age just a number? A lot of people do but I think that your 21st and 40th are the only ones that require a bit more of a do.

4. Do you consider yourself musical?  Very much so.  Music plays a huge part in our family.  My father could play any instrument by ear.  I play guitar myself, and do a bit of singing.

5. How often do you drink beer?  Rarely.  I'm not a big drinker as it is.

6. Do you have a raincoat?  I have a polka dot shower jacket.  You can scrunch it up and stuff it anywhere, it never needs ironing.

7. Have you seen the saga of Jack and Rose from the film Titanic ? Absolutely, watched it at least 20 times. It's an all time classic.  The only film that makes me cry at the end is Sweet Hostage,  based on the book  Welcome To Xanadu.

8.  Name a John Denver song.  Apart from Annie's Song, I can't.

9. Would you skydive given the choice?  Not a hope in Hell.  It takes all my strength to get me on a kid's ride at the fair......

Sunday Stealing - Get It All Down

Join in the Sunday fun!  Help that hangover go by visiting us

 1.  Are you a good dancer?  I'm okay.  Used to attend a modern ballet class but I was more suited to freestyle.  Still jig a little at functions.

 2.  Are you a good singer?  I'm not too bad at singing, we were always a musical family. Adore a good karaoke.

 3.  Are you a good cook?  No.  Don't do much of that kind of thing, although I bake a little.

 4. Are you a good artist?  I used to paint murals in kid's bedrooms - football teams logos, cartoon and Disney characters  mainly.  Been over 20 years since I've lifted that kind of brush.

 5. Are you a good listener?  I tend to shut off when my hubby goes into tales of yore mode, but I'd like to think I am.

 6. What's your favourite clean word?  Bubbles.

 7. What's your favourite swear word?  Bastarding.

 8. What is your least favourite word?   Phenomenon, because it's bastarding tricky to pronounce!

 9. What was the last film you saw?  The Luzhin Defence.

10. What football team do you support?  Stenhousemuir.

11. Have you ever been bobbing for apples?   Yup.  It's a Halloween tradition over here.

12. What's your most expensive piece of clothing?  I really cannot say.  Probably the suit I bought for funerals.

13. What was the last thing you took a picture of?  My immediate family at my son's s engagement party in April, on one of those timer mode things.

14. What was the last thing you drew a picture of?  I think I doodled some dandelions.
15. Have you ever bought anything from eBay?  Nowt.

16. Have you invented a fairly unique meal or drink?  I mix cola and fizzy orange and call it a Mucky Puddle.  Looks as it sounds but it tastes great,  but I'm not very culinary creative.

17.  Do you have any secret family recipes?   I have a recipe for Scottish tablet that my ex mum-in-law sent me and it was the only one that ever worked but I think it was more to do with method rather than ingredients.

Saturday 9 - Daddy's Little Man

Saturday 9 - Daddy's Little Man

Join in with the 9'rs here

Unfamiliar with this weeks' tune?  Hear it  there

1.  This song is about a father and son sharing an afternoon visit. What are your plans this Saturday afternoon? Having a bit of a chilling day today. Probably catch up on my blogs' posts here and then make some home- made rice pudding with loads of nutmeg.

2.  Do you have any ice cream in your freezer right now?  I don't, actually.  Never stays in the tub too long!

3.  When was the last time you cursed?  Today.  This morning.  Might manage a few more before bedtime - they just slip out!  I do know my place, however.  My mum-in-law was the only person I never cursed in front of.

4.  Who is you favourite movie or TV father?  A few may not know Rik Mayall  but he's in a sitcom called Man Down, and plays a elderly father  - Richard Davies - who antagonises and humiliates his teacher son constantly.  In this clip he lends his son his suit for a function, then goes on to explain a little of it's history!  Oh, boy!  NOT for the easily offended.

5.  When you take a trip, do you bring back souvenirs?  Yes. Always.  There's even a few around the room as I sit.

6.  Who taught you to drive?  I can't drive and really have no interest in doing so - for the sake of my nerves and public safety!

7.  Would you rather receive a gift that someone chose for you, or the equivalent in cash or token?  The gift - it really is all about the thought counting.

8. What's the last thing you cooked on the grill?  Those shiny black things......aubergine's?  But only to help someone out.  It's The Cheaper Half that does most of the cooking.

9. When craving a snack do you prefer sweet or salty?  Sweet.  Praline and Cream ice cream sweet.  Failing that - a Turkish Delight.

I'd like to add also that Sam's dad sounds a top bloke - my dad had a similar apron, too, and still picture him in it!  And a huge Happy Father's Day to all dads and granddads within our families!

Sunday Stealing - the Would You Rather meme - part 2

Join in the Sunday meme - right here ☜

 1.  Would you rather go to a movie or dinner alone?  A movie.  Already done it a few times. I don't mind ordering a coffee and cake in my own company but I'd feel a bit awkward on my own for dinner.

 2.  Would you rather always say everything on your mind or never speak again?   There'd be major fireworks if I always verbally emptied my mind of thoughts.  Duct tape over the mouth would be the best bet - as would refraining from learning sign language.

 3.  Would you rather make a phone call or send a text?  Land line call.  I don't use a mobile phone at all.

 4.  Would you rather read a good book or watch a good movie?  I do both often so it's a tight call.  I try not to watch the film before the book as it's hard to erase the actors' faces as you mentally work through the storyline.

 5.  Would you rather be the most popular person at work or school or the smartest?  I'm used to being neither but if I had to choose, I reckon you're never too old to learn even more.

 6.  Would you rather put a stop to war or end world hunger?  You can't choose here.  They're both needing stamped out and to honest I can't ever see either ending.

 7.  Would you rather spend the night in a luxury hotel room or camp amid breathtaking scenery?  Hotel room, hands down.  In fact, I'd prefer to spend the night in a YMCA with bricks the view from the window!

 8.  Would you rather explore space or the ocean?  The ocean.  I've always been fascinated with the hullabaloo under water, especially coral reefs and their surroundings.

 9.  Would you rather go deep sea diving or a bungee jump? Diving.  No way would I fling myself over a cliff or bridge.

10. Would you rather be a kid all your life or an adult your whole life?  I've a feeling this answer will be similar with we ladies (and gent) but I've no intention of ever growing up and always will be a kid in a grown up's body!

11. Would you rather go on a cruise with your friends or your spouse?  Spouse. We're getting on a bit and he's not keeping so well these days, so quality marital time is more important.

12  Would you rather lose your keys or your mobile phone?  Losing keys would be more bother.  I'd never get through that toilet window these days!

13. Would you rather eat a meal of cow tongue or octopus?  Octopus would be a bit too chewy probably. I like a bit of tongue!

14. Would  you rather have X-ray vision or magnified hearing?  Hearing.  I really would like to home in on as much info as possible.  We all like a good bit of gossip.......

15.  Would you rather work in a group or work alone?  Alone.  I get distracted far too easily.

Saturday 9 - American Pie

Join in the Saturday 9'ers    this-a-way

Hear this week's featured song here

1. When you were a kid, what household chores or job did you do for spending money?  I remember getting £1 for cleaning out and feeding the ferrets every weekend but I shared it with my twin who was terrified of the little nippers.  We were never paid for the chores, mind you!

2. What drink did you last order?  In a pub, a glass of white wine.  In a cafe, probably a very milky tea.

3. When was the last time it rained where you are?  It is drizzling as I'm hitting the keys!

4. What's the last thing you wrote with pen or pencil?  A shopping list no doubt.  I wander aimlessly round the aisles and forget necessities so on paper it goes. Every visit.

5. Don McLean's CD Addicted To Black refers to Olivia from The Twelfth Night. This instant (no cheating with Google) name another Shakespeare character.  Romeo Montague. What a shameful cop out.......

6. Is your neighbourhood easily walkable?  Pretty much, lest you've been in the pub all night!

7. Have you ever been to Disneyland?  No.  Although I've always wanted to ask Donald Duck why he bothers with wrapping a towel round his waist every time he comes out the shower!

8. Have you ever used a tanning bed?  Heavens, no!  I'm very much a tan dodger.  I don't do summer very well, I'm afraid.

9. Have you seen the 1999 movie American Pie?   Yes. And the follow ups. Lots of youngsters in the family.

◊ Sunday Stealing - the Would You Rather meme ◊

Join in the Sunday fun here

                       ☼ Would You Rather ☼

 1.  Would you rather go into the past and meet your ancestors or go into the future and meet your great grandchildren? :  My ancestors, definitely!  I'd love to know if there were any relative-heroes or
crooks-of-yore in the family.

 2.  Would you rather have more time or more money? :  Money for now would be preferred as I'd feel content knowing my children would be financially settled for life.  I'm talking lottery stuff here!

 3.  Would you rather have a pause or rewind button on your life? :  Rewind.  Things are rather shitty for pause at the moment.

 4.  Would you rather be able to talk to the animals or speak all foreign languages? :  I'd be happy babbling along with some monkeys or pigs.  I reckon  we'd have a lot in common!

5.  Would you like to win the lottery or double your lifespan? :  See number 2......

 6.  Would you feel worse if no one showed up at your wedding  or your funeral? :  Neither.  It would both be a small family and few friends affair either way.

 7.  Would you rather do without the internet or the phone for a whole week? :  I'm rarely on the phone these days and keeping in touch is just as easy on a website so that'll be net, then.

 8.  Would you rather meet George Washington or the current President? :  I may not be able to judge that fairly as I'm Scottish but I'd love to meet our present Prime Minister. Close enough for my eggs to make a good splat on his upper body area.

 9.  Would you rather lose your vision or your hearing? :  I guess losing my sight would be worse.

10. Would you rather work extra hours in the day to shorten the number of days you work? :  Four long days for a full three days off  sounds reasonable enough.

11. Would you rather listen to music of the 70's or the present day? :  I'd need to stick with the 70's as it was the decade of my youth.  Bowie, Blondie and the Bay City Rollers helped me through the teenage traumas.  It was the 90's that truly defined music for me.

12. Would you rather become someone else or remain you? :  I'm an identical twin so I'm not sure how to answer this one!

13. Would you rather be Batman or Spiderman? :  Spiderman.  Swinging through the city with the greatest of ease. Could have my shopping done in no time and miss the rush hour traffic!

14. Would you rather be stuck in a broken ski lift or a broken elevator? :  I've already been stuck in a lift with my first husband while visiting his granny, so based on that experience, a ski-lift!

15. On your birthday would you prefer money or gift? :  Gift.  Especially if it's handmade.

3. Who is the nicest person you know?  My daughter Kerri.  She has the kindest heart.  She sponors cancer, penguins, donkeys, African girls, and the homeless charities.  Her donations are only for a few pounds a month but they all add up.  Her surgery dress up when Comic Relief and Children In Need come around.  She's cool, calm and collected and would do anything for anybody.  I am humbled by her strength and commitments. In addition to all that she is the funniest girl on the planet!  A right little heroine is she.

4. Do you speak any Spanish?  Not one iota of it!
